Chillventa, the refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump exhibition, runs from 13 to 15 October 2026 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, with the Chillventa CONGRESS held the day before on Monday 12 October. Organiser NürnbergMesse has added Hall 1 to the footprint after the pre-booking phase left no room for new exhibitors or larger stands. Trade site Cooling Post reported in May 2025 that the extra hall adds 10,800 m², taking total display area to 85,930 m², an increase of nearly 15%; NürnbergMesse’s own release confirms the additional hall and the reallocation but does not state those square metres. The 2024 edition drew 1,010 exhibitors from 49 countries and 33,076 trade visitors. Doors open from 09:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 09:00 to 17:00 on Thursday.
The hall allocation has changed enough to matter for anyone navigating from memory. Halls 8 and 9 keep the main refrigeration products, as in 2024, while air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump technology move into Halls 7 and 7A. Refrigeration exhibitors previously in Hall 7A move largely to Hall 4A, and those in Hall 7 move to Halls 1 and 4. Halls 5 and 6 swap their main product categories, and NürnbergMesse describes Hall 6, which covers C&I (controls and instrumentation, or measurement, control and regulation technology), as the main link between the refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation segments. Hall 1 also closes the visitor circuit through the Eingang Mitte entrance.
Insulation is inside the show’s declared scope rather than adjacent to it: the organiser describes Chillventa as covering “refrigeration and insulation technologies, C&I and automation, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps”. The audience is heavily international by the organiser’s own 2024 count, with 74% of exhibitors and 57% of visitors coming from outside Germany.
The Chillventa CONGRESS on Monday 12 October runs the day before the halls open, with sessions listed on heat pumping technologies, refrigeration innovation, the joint ASERCOM and EPEE symposium, and air conditioning for data centres. That programme is a reasonable indicator of where the equipment side expects its growth, and data centre cooling in particular has not historically been a core theme of this show.
For a rigid foam formulator or a buyer of panel systems, the value of this edition is in who attends rather than in what is launched. The exhibitor and visitor base is the direct customer set for cold-chain insulation: cold room panel fabricators, refrigerated body builders, and commercial and industrial refrigeration OEMs. With the show three weeks out from now, the realistic use of this information is travel and meeting planning rather than stand booking, and the reshuffle across Halls 1, 4, 4A, 7A, 8 and 9 means a 2024 floorplan is no longer a reliable guide to where existing suppliers will be standing.
